Paint 3D Online lets you sketch with freehand brushes, place 2D shapes, and build 3D models right in your browser. Here is an overview of the main tools available in the editor.
Choose from 10 drawing tools: Marker, Calligraphy pen, Oil brush, Watercolor, Pixel pen, Pencil, Eraser, Crayon, Spray can, and Fill bucket. You can adjust brush thickness and opacity, pick colors from presets, or use the eyedropper to match any color on screen.
Draw shapes like circles, rectangles, stars, hearts, and speech bubbles. Drag on the canvas to set the size, change the stroke thickness and fill color, or click Make 3D to turn any flat shape into a standing 3D object.
Place 3D shapes like cubes, spheres, and cones, or draw custom shapes with the freehand 3D doodle tool. You can also add pre-made models like a puppy, kitten, fish, or mannequin, then use the rotation handles to turn them or move them forward and back in depth.
Stamp built-in stickers like smileys, stars, and planets onto your artwork, or apply surface textures like wood, marble, and grass. You can also upload your own image files (PNG, JPG, or SVG) to use as stickers or place on 3D shapes.
Drag a box around any part of your canvas to cut it out. The selected subject turns into a movable sticker you can reposition or resize, while the empty background behind it fills in automatically.
Change the scene lighting using presets like Warm, Night, Lavender, or Aqua. Drag the sun icon around the light wheel to change where the light hits your 3D objects and adjust the direction of shadows.
Add text directly onto your flat canvas, or switch to 3D text to create block letters with physical depth. You can change the font, size, and color, and rotate 3D text in any direction to match your scene.
Click 3D view to step back from the flat canvas and inspect your work from all sides. Right-click and drag (or swipe on touchscreens) to orbit the camera around your 3D objects, and scroll to zoom in or out.
Follow these simple steps to draw, add 3D objects, and export your work.
Pick a brush to start sketching, or open the 2D shapes panel to draw outlines. To edit an existing picture, paste it with Ctrl+V or open it through Menu > Open.
Open the 3D shapes panel to place objects like cubes or spheres, or add pre-built models like the puppy or kitten. You can also turn any 2D shape or sticker into 3D by clicking Make 3D.
Click any 3D object to reveal its rotation rings, and drag them to tilt or turn it. Use the depth handle on the left side of the selection box to slide the object closer or farther back. Toggle 3D view to inspect your work from all sides.
Go to Menu > Save to keep your project stored in your browser so you can resume later. When you are ready to export, choose Save as to download an image (PNG or JPG) or a 3D model (.OBJ).
You can save your work directly in your browser or download images and 3D files to your device.
Save your scene as a standard flat image. If you need a transparent background for logos or stickers, turn on Transparent canvas in the Canvas panel before exporting as PNG.
Export the 3D objects in your project as a standard .OBJ file. You can open OBJ files in apps like Windows 3D Viewer or Blender, or import them into 3D printing software.
Download a project file to your computer so you can pick up where you left off later. When you want to continue working, go to Menu > Open and load the .JSON file.
Click Menu > Save to store up to 12 projects directly in your browser with visual preview thumbnails. No login is needed, but remember to download a project file if you plan to clear your browser data.
